The Digitization Program Office at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum has taken on an incredible project of mass digitization. In collaboration with the Department of Paleobiology, the museum’s massive collection of fossils will be digitized. With an estimation of 40 million specimens, the collection is the largest in the world. During this project, Digital transitions equipment has helped scientists do the research needed to tackle and understand big questions such as climate change, evolution, and mass extinction.
